Topography & Geography
The region's landscape consists of steep and moderately sloped terrains. The northern and eastern parts of the Grama Panchayat feature rugged, rocky hills, interspersed with a few plain lands.
During the monsoon season, the region receives torrential rainfall, frequently triggering landslides and other natural hazards in the hilly areas. Conversely, the post-monsoon months bring severe drought conditions almost every year. High-intensity rain often causes the Kadanthara River to overflow, leading to severe flooding, loss of life, and widespread damage. This surplus flow also feeds into the Kuttiyadi River, worsening flood conditions downstream and causing extensive destruction.
